November 2, 2014: New York Marathon

MY LIFE WITH BACON continues this week with a very short post.

Visited New York City Saturday-Sunday and dropped in on The Cannibal– a great little restaurant/meat market in midtown Manhattan.  You can order pretty much anything here.   Great looking place!  Wish I had more time to sit down and eat meat!  You gotta love a place that has "bone marrow" and "half pig's head" on the menu!  They have bacon, but not that day.  I would certainly have picked some up.

I WANTED TO VISIT THE BACONRY, but alas, it's either closed or being remodeled.


THE NYC MARATHON WAS NOVEMBER 1ST.  We were visiting our daughter Caitlin and her boyfriend Matt – they ran the marathon!  Here is a picture of her holding her medal – and mine from 24 years earlier.  She and Matt did great!

BACON IN THE NEWS

I’ve previously written about bacon related crime.  Well, here’s an article from Alabama – Jefferson County – where an escaped bacon thief was recaptured “after a pack of labeled cigarettes led lawmen to the fugitive”.  He was in jail for allegedly stealing bacon from a Walmart.  They caught him sleeping on a couch in an apartment complex.  Dumb, dumb, dumb.
