MY LIFE WITH BACON: The Great Bacon Awakening of 2024-2025 A Long Overdue Update After Nearly Two Years of Bacon Silence MY LIFE WITH BACON continues after what can only be described as an EPIC hiatus! Here I am, writing to you on June 27, 2025, and I realize it's been over a year and a half since my last substantial post back in November 2023. Time really does fly when you're... well, when you're apparently NOT blogging about bacon. But fear not, my fellow bacon enthusiasts, because the bacon world has been ANYTHING but quiet during my absence. I've been getting emails, messages, and even the occasional concerned phone call asking, "Where's the bacon content?" and "Have you given up on bacon?" The answer is a resounding NO! If anything, my love affair with bacon has only deepened, and the industry itself has undergone some absolutely MIND-BLOWING changes that I simply MUST share with you. So grab your favorite bacon-scented candle (yes, they ...
MY LIFE WITH BACON continues! February 26, 2013 was the date of my first post in this blog. Ten years ago this past February. Time flies! So, given my year+ journey into Artificial Intelligence, and having taken a great course from Vanderbilt on Prompt Engineering, I did the unthinkable: I asked Google Deep Mind to do an analysis for me about the health risks of consuming bacon. Here's what it came up with. Take it with a grain of salt and a slice of bacon. Plenty of links to explore. Just wait for my next post in a day or so!! I've italicized and bolded with highlights the parts I thought were the most interesting. And I've underlined my comments. And yes, I was interviewed on NPR in 2017. Enjoy: Key Points - Research suggests bacon consumption is linked to increased cancer and heart disease risks. - It seems likely that nitrates in bacon form harmful compounds, unlike in vegetables. - The evidence leans toward limiting bacon due to high saturated fat and sodium content. - Controversy exists on risk magn...
